I was caught shoplifting sometime last year in Primark. Value of goods was about 30 pounds. I had already paid some stuff and out stupidity decided to shoplift a pant and some cheap perfumes. I was approached by security as and was taken to a back room. The security who approached me was pretty nice and told me he wasn’t going to call the police but I was going to be banned and I was going to be sent a “fine” and that if I didnt pay up the company works with the police and that I will be reported . The was this other security guy with him throwing a fit about how he would have called the police if his mate was not on duty that day. Anyway, I was asked to provide my details on a sheet of paper but out of fright I gave them the wrong details. He crossed check by BRP(I had just soft copy on my phone) but for some funny reason did not realise the name I had provided was incorrect. I was on a student visa due to return to my home country the next day and I was doing some last minute shopping when the whole thing happened. I had actually moved out of my accommodation and was living with a friend and tbh I did not even know his address off head. I am due to return back to the UK for another course and I have currently applied for my visa waiting for a response from the UKVI. My question is since i provided the wrong details, will they report me to the police ? Immigration? Will RLP(civil recovery) go out of their way to find out my true identity. I have been thinking about this so much I can barely get any sleep. Can this affect my application in any way?
