Banned from tkmaxx?

So stupidly, today I was in tkmaxx & saw a really nice pair of headphones with damaged packaging. Being a student I'm tight for money, so I removed them & put them in my pocket. A few minutes later an u uniformed guard came up to me & told me to remove them, & told me I would be banned from all tkmaxx premises, but didn't take my name, address, or any details, & told me the police would not be involved. From looking at other cases this has me somewhat confused. Due to this, can they actually enforce this ban? If so how would they know if I did enter another store or in fact the same one ifi changed my look? Do they keep the security images of said persons despite u not filling out a ban compliance form or the appropriate paperwork?
