So me and a friend were caught shop lifting today at primark (Cardiff) and both if our stuff together came to £120, mine individually being around £30. We were banned from Primark and given a letter saying we will recieve a fine letter from RLP in a few weeks. I've been reading the forums and I really REALLY cant afford to pay £150+ i'm only 17, my grandmother is going to kill me and this is my first offence. People are saying to ignore the letters but they have my address and name etc. And i'm scared that if I ignore them ill end up in court or with a bigger fine. I'm panicking a lot right now.
Please help ASAP!

RLP cannot issue a "fine", they do not have any authority to do so, only the courts can do so and you will not be going there. Take heed of the other threads. The shop haven't lost anything so what can they claim by going to court?
In your reading you must have seen mention of the Oxford case? RLP got a good spanking from the judge.
