Do you have to display the time card in with the blue badge?

I've got double yellow lines outside the front of my house (a culdesac).

Do I have to put the time card in with the blue badge when parked on double yellows?

We only have 1 traffick warden for the whole of the area who has not been seen since the double yellows were put down.

The DfT has given some guidance for local authorities.

The scheme does differ slightly for different areas.....best to contact your local LA.

If as a disabled person you are having to park on double yellows outside you house you may be entitled to a disabled parking bay. Speak to your local council answer see that would be the best bet. I think you are supposed to show the clock.

Been fined for not displaying clock, only when you in a time restricted parking spot.
How to display your badge

Make sure your badge:

• is the right way up
• is clearly visible through the windscreen
• hasn’t expired

If you park somewhere with a time limit, always set the parking time clock on your blue badge to show the 15 minute period that you arrived.
If you get a parking ticket even though you’ve displayed your badge properly, you can appeal it.
If your badge has expired, has been damaged, or is lost or stolen, you should contact the local authority to tell them and ask for a replacement.

Been refused a disabled bay too close to junction.

I think its because they knew the double yellows was being put down.

To be honest you could pay for a disabled bay (if you were allowed) and it would not guarantee you any legal standing as to it being parked in by others, it is only there on the hope that people will use their manners and respect, you could not fine them or make them leave the spot with any legal standing.
The yellow lines in your street will also have a post with rules on, if it doesn't have time limits on it then imho you have no need to show your clock .

No, there doesn't appear to be anything showing a time limit on the double yellows.

I think you best check on your local council site, if you are within 15 meters of a junction you cant park on yellow lines at all. It does as someone said earlier state for 3 hours but as it's outside your house it seems a bit naff. How do your neighbours park?

I have to ask what reason did the council give for the lines? in a cul de sac? seems a tad off, but most councils are anyway

If signage is not in place that permits stopping on double yellow lines, motorists are prohibited from stopping 24 hours per day, 7 days per week which includes Sundays and public holidays.

Double yellow lines are put in place to prevent motorists from stopping at the side of the road for safety reasons and/or to aid in preventing traffic congestion.

The 3 hour limit on double yellows is in the handbook provided with the blue badge and clock.

I did object to the double yellow lines because its a culdesac and not a through road.

Nobody comes out of the side road to the left on the junction so I really just cannot understand why the line were put there.

I have seen online and looked it up that if there are no signs in place to warn people not to park there, I can stilll put the blue badge in the car without the timecard.

I am about to turn my front garden into a drive so it wont be an issue soon.

I think the lines are within 8 metres of the junction.
