Cowboy builder harassing me for thousands I'm distraught

We had a builder who has had seventy grand of my dads money. To cut a long story short my dad wanted to renovate the house ready to get my sick mum home. The builder damaged plaster, half completed one room and didn't put skirting boards in, left gaps in floorboards under doors, left doors unhung etc. We had no working kitchen or sink for several months. A conservatory was put in with no cladding and a hole was created for a cat flap. My dad unfortunately had a severe stroke in August. They left a mess and the worktops in the kitchen were at the wrong height and had to be readjusted. Him and the others have been continuing to harass me for money, unannounced visits, phone calls and emails. He's demanding thousands. I've already spent money putting things right. I'm sick with stress and worried so much about my dad whom I want home. I've tried all the charities. I'm distraught and I don't know what to do anymore. Please can somebody help please

Trading standards reporting the builder. Others may also have had problems.

Have you got a quote for the work, or an agreement?

In the meantime a letterto him with free proof of posting from a post office telling him to desist from harassment,

Can I ask have to started or indeed issued a formal complaint about the poor workmanship\?

Sounds like the most obvious thing you have yet to do is inform the police?

Hello. I've tried reporting to trading standards but just get quoted the sake of goods act?

Hello. No quote. No paperwork. He's had a letter from the solicitor telling him to stop harassing me which he's ignored.

I've called the police there's nothing they can do

No complaint as yet. Was thinking of writing letter stating the sale of goods act and that work was not carried out with reasonable care and skill or within a reasonable timeframe.

Thank you. He's not a member of anything. He's trying to charge court fees from Howdens kitchen and outstanding balance of nearly 4,000. We've already paid 6,0000. So the kitchen cost £10,000 and he's trying to charge my dad extra 4,000! Or defies logic. Especially as my dad is sick.
