  • problem

    hi there i m not sure if this is the correct thread to put this in but this is my query i know of an electrician that has been displaying the NICEIC logo both on their website and also on their van however i have checked on the NICEIC website and they are not registered withy the NICEIC now they did used to be but for the last month or so they are not with them i would like some advice on what to do about this as i m sure that this is fraudulent advertising could someone please advise me thanks for help ps sorry if i posted in wrong thread

    Hi RG - Welcome to LB.

    You could anways contact NICEIC direct via their website here - http://www.niceic.com/about-us/contact-us - advising them of the fact that this contractor is still using their logo

              You will have to ask them, and even then they might not tell you, and certainly may be forbidden by the policy T&Cs to tell you the amount of cover.

              The only sure way is to lodge a claim against the company and see if the insurers take it over to deal with it!

                      a contractor in the North East was sentenced for unauthorised use of the NICEIC approved contractor logo and two other logos.
                      Martin Coverdale, who traded as Coverdale & Sons Plumbing & Heating, was sentenced to a community order totalling more than 180 hours at Middlesbrough Crown Court on January 26.
                      The sentence was in relation to nine separate misuse counts under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act.
