• rlp help!

Hi I received a letter from rlp saying that basically there was no further action and i didnt have to pay a fine. but then I went on to read that this would stay on there database for 6 years! I phoned them and they said this may affect my employment :-( and I said I had been in my current job for 10 years and was going for a job interview next week and they said this may affect me getting a new job! Help! Will this really affect me? I can add a picture of the letter. ... i have no police record and no fine from rlp but they are saying my details will stay on therr system. .....

    Hi pavement, welcome to LB

It would help if you could put up a redacted copy of the letter you received - that way we would be able to see exactly what was said. That being said, I honestly don't think that RLP can do anything to affect your employment

I told 'the client' the whole thing was ridiculous and they said they would contact rlp to stop it. But rlp is niw saying it stays on thete system? Will this affect me getting another job?

              Re: rlp help!

I suggest you put in a complaint with the ICO - I'm almost sure rlp shouldn't be keeping your details like this.

Nothing on their 'database' can affect your future employment tho'

ICO = Information Comissioners Office (https://ico.org.uk) - they are in charge of Data Protection :tinysmile_twink_t2:

The only way any 'record' would be searchable is if you had been charged by the police or had a ccj lodged against you! Some sh***y rlp "database" (:sorry: for the language :lol is not a public record
