I visited the tesco’s today with my mum bought a scratch card she was about to hand it over to me so I could look at it. I am 18 and a British Pakistani which is entirely relevant. I never even had it in my hand where the sales assistant spoke in a loud and rude manner and the customer behind took one look at me and said a few rude things. I said I have my bank card just in case she wanted to see that but then the other customer; he broke in and said he had a bank card since he was 9 too. I used to suffer from self-harm and the burn marks were easily seen and I did receive a few looks from them but it's best to ignore but he just plain rude and the sales assistant made no effort to speak to him. I came back on the same day to show my nus card which has my picture and bus concession card which show which university I go to and my date of birth. Apparently you do not accept those as a form of ID but the person who was in a line in front of my did not have to show ID for a scratch card but I did.

That's dreadful summerrm. You should make a formal complaint to Tesco Head Office.
Asking for ID is OK but it should be done politely and both the nus and bus cards should have been perfectly acceptable. It sounds like discrimination to me. dont let it go.

Re: customer service in tesco
Thanks I have emailed them, hopefully they will reply back because my nus card has my date of birth and photograph but then the sales assistant was saying how my nus card wasn't signed by me? She didn't ask anyone else for their ID card and never said anything to the other rude customer.
