Perhaps it is used for private parties or sex orgies over the weekend?

I remember that now you mention it. I like 'The Real Hussle' where they show how easy it is to con people or steal from them.

It could be that there was only an apple in the bag!

Hello again, I clearly cant prove it had a laptop in it can I?! However, I would tell them what laptop it was (its not anything special, a HP business laptop that certainly wasn't brand new, i.e, not a brand spanking new apple net book worth over £1000.) Also to add they have agreed to compensate me, albeit over an email, and the general manager is going to call me to discuss on Tuesday. I just want compensation so I can replace the laptop, the bag and some minor personal possessions that they lost through sheer incompetence.

Little known info here Inca but the City of London is only a mile square and is the financial centre of London, the stockbrokers go home on Friday and come back Monday, it's like a ghost town over the weekends!

I worked at Fenchurch Street Station and weekends were dead after about 6pm

Yep. the city of London is a ghost town over a weekend, particularly a bar like this. Big thanks to the advice you have given me everyone, its greatly appreciated.
