Why not go through the small claims court? If you win, chances are he'll have to pay costs. You then have the option of bailiffs if he doesn't pay.

He will pay what he owes, even if I have to embarass him at every single employer to get the message across that he needs to pay what he owes, but I have a feeling thats going to be a long slog

You probably won't like this but, as you seem to dislike my comments already, one more should make no difference.

I would strenuously advise against seeking to embarrass the fellow at his place of employment, not least of which because that could be or could become an offence contrary to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (link).

I have to agree it is by far the best way to do everything above board. The last thing you want is for you to be the one ending up in trouble when he is the one owing money.

Its likely its what I will have to do, didn't ever want it to get to that stage as we were good friends, but he obviously didn't value the friendship enough with some of the things that have occured and are still occuring.

The only problem I have, is I can see this all getting protracted and long winded, which is why I wanted to avoid court if possible, because the longer it goes on, means I will have to continue paying the loan off, which is grossly unfair, thats why I wanted a quicker resolution to this, but I'm not confident there is one.

Will have to gather my thoughts on all of this and see what occurs
