  • Fonehouse / Royal mail - returned phone lost

I sent my old phone to Fonehouse to sell, however rejected their paltry offer. They sent the phone back to me via royal mail tracked but the phone got lost in transit (initially failed to deliver as I was out, then got lost in their depot when trying to redeliver twice).

I raised a case with royal mail who said that because Fonehouse sent the item, they not I need to claim. I raised issue with fonehouse who said give it 30 days for royal mail but then said they had no update from them. I raised it again another 30 days later with fonehouse and they still would t assist further.

How to I proceed next? I have the original receipt with all the details from when I first bought the phone and also another offer from a different phone buyer at the time of rejecting Fonehouse's offer.

I understand Royal mail tracked only covers to £75 but I'd want at least £125. Fonehouse offered me around 80 or so.

How did you pay for the postage?

I didn't pay for the postage, Fonehouse bought the return postage to send the phone back to me when I told them I didn't accept their offer. This was Royal mail 24 or 48

Yes I have, they just keep telling me each time that royal mail needs more time. First 30 days, then no update then 6 weeks more in addition to time elapsed

Write a review on Trustpilot, that you sent a phone back via Royal Mail, they only cover £75.00.
That still leave you £50 short. Fonehouse do respond on Trustpilot within a day or so.
