    Hello,

    I purchased and item on 1.11.2022 and cancelled the item, got a refund and was told a courier would collect the item but no one ever came and no further emails. Item was never opened, sat beside the sofa and became like a side table.

    How long do I need to keep the item before disposing of it?

    I can't answer your question but am very interested in the answers others offer as I am in the same position!

    A wine company delivered my order twice in error (details not important) and in August 2022 said in an email they'd arrange for a courier to collect and let me know when they would be coming. Never heard from them again. The unopened case of wine is still in the bottom of the wardrobe in my back bedroom and I'm wondering when I can drink it!

      You both need to look at the Torts(Interference with goods) Act 1977.Schedule 1

      Basically you have to write recorded to the owner telling him to get his finger out or you will after a set time sell the goods.
      You then have to retain the proceeds for the owner for a period of 6 years!

        So, that would also mean keeping the goods for 6 years, then dumping.

          No. you try and sell the goods (e.g. eBay auction) and keep the proceeds.
          If they don't sell (as long as you showed a genuine attempt) you could then give them away or dump them
