  • Demanding payment for trespass ?

What are the rights and wrongs of this case ?

Someone parked on private property and the land owner demanded a payment before the car owner was allowed back on the property .

If the landowner wanted to enter into a contract with the motorist for a £10 parking fee then the same rules would apply as they do to private parking companies. It would need signage to state that parking there was entering into a contract to pay £10. Was there any such signage? And if unpaid the remedy would be a small claims court action for breach of contract

If there is no contract a claim could be brought in the civil courts for damages. A judge would decide whether £10 was the appropriate amount.

Are you personally directly involved in this case? In what capacity?

Fom the date on the video the incident appears to have taken place some years ago so why has it become an issue now?

By denying the vehicle's owner access to their car, the land owner might have committed an offence himself and so was lucky there was No further action!

I presume that that website is some kind of police "audit" website?

does your question have any current significance?
