  • Appeal against N24 General Form of Judgement or Order as claimant

I began a small claim against a plumber who sold me radiators which I didn’t want but he wouldn’t return and refund in the 14 day cooling off period. No advance notice was given of his ‘no returns’ policy. Telephone mediation didn’t happen so we were asked to attend a directions hearing before a County Court District Judge. I couldn’t attend due to a family commitment 150 miles away and wrote to the Court to advise this. The defendant did not attend either. I have now received an N24 General Form of Judgement or Order from the Court saying the claim and defence are struck out due to non attendance. Does anybody know if I can appeal this decision or at least seek permission to appeal? Thank you in advance.

You may apply to set that order aside as it was made in your absence.

Thank you Atticus and for the link. Do you happen to know which form to complete?

A standard application notice. Sorry, I do not keep form numbers in my head.
