Personal trainer demands completion of minimum term, no contract

Hi all, my partner recently signed up to a personal trainer found on Instagram. Our financial situation has changed, and we don't feel that the service is worth the cost anymore, so we want to cancel. We contacted the trainer who advised us that there was 'a 6-month legal agreement' in place. During the signup process there was a check-box web form that informed us of a 6 month 'commitment', amongst other things such as attending weekly meetings and following a diet plan, although we have never been sent a copy of any contract. Is it just a case of informing the trainer of our intention to cancel, and cancelling the DD? Or does a web form like this act as a legally binding contract? Thank you in advance.

Yes, an enforceable and binding contract can be created by that means. But the question appears to be what are the actual terms, and whether they satisfy 'fairness' criteria.

As Atticus says even though there might be Terms and Conditions, they maybe 'unfair'. So could be challenged.
