  • Broken terms

my niece books in for a piercing. Pays £25 deposit. Lady emails a confirmation and then way down the bottom was terms and conditions. She’s 17. Goes in for piercing, lady asks if she’s eaten within an hour, she hasn’t, she said she broken terms and loses deposit. Can she do this? Thank you all

If the terms and conditions were inserted after the booking, then she can't introduce terms after the fact unless you consent. It sounds like the person is trying to swindle your niece and you might have good grounds for getting your money back, but it depends on whether you/your niece wants to pursue it which could potentially mean going through legal proceedings for £25.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

These days I understand you have to go to a Citizens' Advice Bureau and ask them to refer your complaint to TS. There is no other way of contacting them.

Nearly 40 years ago I spent 6 months as a trainee TS inspector. I left as it was a rubbish career. To my astonishment, over the last nearly 40 years they have become even less consumer oriented...
