  • Banned from Shop of ex employer

I recently quit my job due to my old manager. After I left I tried to request a work email from her so I could raise some complaints and got nowhere.
She then called the police and got me banned from every McColls and Morrisons Daily in the Uk, her reason given was harassment/threatening behaviour(this is completely fabricated, I assume she was scared I was going to take legal action or she was bitter that I left).

I contacted McColls/Morrisons Daily to appeal that ban and was told that they would not change their mind and they will not provide evidence(obviously none exists).

Is there anything else I can do about this? I am friends with everyone inside the store and it is the only shop local to my house, so I would very much like to shop there.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi TOMUK

I'm not sure it's possible to get you 'un-banned'.

You could send them a SAR request.

'Making an employee subject access request is easy. All you need to do write to your employer requesting the personal information that they hold about you. Your employer should have a designated data protection officer, if you know who it is then your request should be sent directly to them.'

They have 30 days to provide all the data they hold on you, just make it a 'general request'.

See what they send. Then see how you can progress the matter from there.

      Hey ECHAT11,

      Thank you for your reply.
I have already made a SAR request in my initial appeal, they replied and said that this would be forwarded onto the appropriate team.
What I am unsure on is whether they have 30 days form when I sent that initial letter or 30 days from when it was referred to the “appropriate team”?
Would yourself or anyone else be able to advise me on this?
Thank you very much again for your reply

30 days from when it's sent. If they still don't send the data to you, send the following:-
