    Hiya

    So they agreed for me to return the vehicle which I did at the weekend - it was just easier to take it to them and get it out the way.

    I have asked for a refund of the £80 to take my private registration off the car in order to return it to them as it was sold to me. And this is what they have refused.

    I have had most of the refund bar £250 which they send on once I send the V5 with the original plate on when it arrives

      So assuming they are also refunding the cost of returning the vehicle (which would include the cost for you to return home) all that will eventually be outstanding is the £80.

      Up to you to decide if it is worth the effort and stress of a court case.
      you have a good case, but small claims at county court are always a bit of a lottery!

        The cost of returning was about a tenner so didn’t think it was worth arguing.

        I’ll argue again however not sure how far I will get though.

        can anyone write me a response?

        I had originally put;

        As you are aware I’ve had to pay again to take my number plate off the vehicle at a cost of £80 to me. The legal advice I have been given is that this expense should be refunded due it resulting from the breach of contract as I have had to put the original on the car in order to return. Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 19 (9) (10) and (11) applies for me to to request any reasonable damages I have occurred as a result of the breach of contract. I have sent Hannah the receipt for this.

        Therefore I would kindly request that this is actioned.

          I would wait till you have the £250 refunded and then "remind" them that there is still outstanding the £80 cost of changing the number plate over.
          Point out you are reluctant to initiate a court claim for this, but will if necessary.
