  • How much is an application to change amount claimed please?

    Hi,

Started a claim on MCOL for £450, but now want to change it to about £750.

Any idea what the cost would be? Anyone? And do I need to find out if it is opposed by the Defendant?

    Thanks.

    £500.01 - £1,000 £70 £60
You don't need to find out if it is opposed, no doubt the Defendant will tell you that in their Defence, if they file one.

The thing is, when you change a claim there are costs attached to doing that, forms has to be filled in and payment made.

I am making an application to amend the amount.

So want to find out cost of doing so, and whether the defendant can oppose it or not?

You will have to pay the difference between the previous fee and new fee chargeable for the court claim.

As in in post 2, the Defendant will defend the claim however they choose too. If they feel £750 isn't owed, then they will defend the claim against them.

Have you checked the link provided?

There is a fee for amendment and the difference between the fees.
