Caught shoplifting in tesco

So I feel terrible, my head's a mess. As a family we have been going through a really rough time recently (no excuse I know)
Anyway.
I got very anxious whilst in Tesco, I don't know what came over me, but I cut the tag off somthing and tried to take a few other bits too.
I got caught, I then paid for everything.
They took my name, adress and my car reg.
They noticed the item didn't have a tag, then they noticed the scissors and told me it was intent of theft and that if they looked through the CCTV footage and saw me cut the tag the would contact the police.
I paid for everything and the police were not called whilst I was there but I just want to prepare myself for what I have to come. I feel so much shame, I don't know what happened or why I thought it was okay to do.
Someone please just tell me I'm not going to go to prison.

You're not going to prison, the fact that you paid means that they are very limited in what they can do.
It is very unlikely that the police would be called. Update thread if anything occurs.

Thank you for responding. They just said that they were going to look back on the CCTV and contact the police if they saw me do it.
I'm also worried as they took my name, reg and adress.

The best thing is to wait to see what they do, if anything. They may well look at the CCTV, they took details which is standard practice, but then you paid for it. I can see the conversation with the police, 'tag was cut off, we have it on CCTV, but the item was paid for'. The police 'Oh'.
