I bought a Volvo XC90 on the 29th September from an hour away. I got home and the vehicle is vibrating when in park slightly. When I put it in reverse it is heavily vibrating. I asked a mobile mechanic to check it out the same night and he also found the parking brake was not working as well as finding an oil leak on the engine. I paid via bank transfer and I have messaged the sales person asking for a full refund. Do i have a leg to stand on and what is the best way to get a full refund please? The car drove fine in D but it is for my wife and new born so concerned. I paid 5k and the car has 145k miles on the clock. Please help

You can reject the car under the consumer rights act 2015. Not of merchantable quality. You are entitled to all your money paid plus any costs. Have you got a written report from the mobile mechanic? Would be helpful.
As it is in the first 30 day period you have the absolute right to reject. You do not have to accept a repair.

Many thanks for your reply. I am very nervous about approaching the dealer. He was just a local mechanic. Please can you tell me how to approach the dealer. What do i do if they offer a repair. How so i reject? I've already left him a message which he has seen saying that i would like a full refund due to the faults. If i drop the car off will they not try to repair them and say i lied?

Email it or if sent by post, get Proof of Postage. Yes, you could get an RAC Mechanic Report, but wait until you've had a response to the letter.
