  • Changing car on insurance policy - can't insure new car

    Hi

I have just been told by Autonet insurance that they are unable to provide insurance on my new car ( corsa 1.2ltr) on the existing policy and I will have to cancel my existing policy at the cost of £138 and take out a new policy !?! I have never in all my 24 years of driving heard anything like this. Apparently they are just the broker and the underwriters that my current policy is with are saying my new car is not insurable , its too high risk ! It's not like I'm trying to insure a super car uts a 21plate corsa bog standard car. Can anyone offer advice if this correct I don't have a leg to stand on and have to pay to cancel my policy ? Thank you

If you know who your existing insurers are, try getting a quote from them online.
If successful you'll be able to call Autonet's bluff.

I bet a sizeable percentage of that cancellation fee is Autonets!
