You should really of paid by Credit or Debit Card, nevertheless there will be a way forward for you.

Finally update..
After standing my ground (more so after receiving some blunt but much needed advice from des8)

The car has gone and I have my refund

Its definitely an experience I have learnt from and will hopefully never fall victim to again.
