  • Visa dispute accepted then item showed up

    Hi, New here

I got seriously messed about for an item. The company took the full payment twice and I had to do a visa dispute to get the second payment back as they wouldn't give it back. I was notified when this refund was agreed.

Then the item didn't arrive when it was supposed to and the company didn't communicate properly so I took a visa dispute and was paid the money but this time with no communication so I didn't notice when the money went into the bank and was still waiting for it to be agreed or declined.

Weeks later the item showed up and I kept it not knowing the visa dispute was agreed.
I thought that was the end of the matter now months later the company have said they want their money back or they'll take me to court in 14 days. They can't claim it back from my bank because I accidentally put the wrong date on the order note when I signed for it.

It's quite expensive I no longer have the money to pay fully for the item as my circumstances changed, what can I do?

You can either return the item or pay them the money
If you wish to keep the item but do not have sufficient ready cash to pay, offer them a payment plan

      Hi Des,

Thanks for your reply. Do they have to accept my offer and can they decide to charge interest?

They do not have to accept your offer, but if they should initiate a court claim and win, they will probably have to accept instalments if you don't have the money to pay.
Unless they have a credit licence they shouldn't try charging interest
