  • Voluntary Termination - mandating signature on LegalBeagles template letter

My first post here but been lurking for several months. I wanted to thank the Forum for publishing such a detailed guide which has helped me understand my rights a lot.

So I have invoked voluntary termination of my hire agreement with Mercedes, they sent me back their termination form which I declined to sign.

Sever days later Mercedes Benz have confirmed by email that they recieved my "custom document" (have not explicitly confirmed they have received my termination notice) but are mandating that I sign my termination letter (which is as per the template from Legal Beagles).

Is there any implication I should be aware of in putting my signature on the termination notice that I have sent them as per the template from Legal Beagles?* Should I push back or just sign my letter and send it to them?

P.S. I am not worried about excess mileage charge but there is some damage all around the wheels on alloys etc. which I am sure they are going to charge me a bomb for.

    Appreciate your support and help.

No legal implication as* such, just not necessary.

However, depending on when you first sent the letter against when your next payment is i.e. if the next instalment is due, MBFS might argue the contract didn't terminate until you had given them a signed version and in which case they could try to claim an extra payment out of you.

If you have given notice plenty of time in advance, shouldn't be anything to worry about.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

Thank you for this R0b, i will reply with a copy of my letter and let them know I have included it to progress this matter as a sake of formality and it does not mean that my initial termination notice date has changed and that providing this additional document does not affect my stutatory rights.

Even if they did ask me to pay any additional installements surely those will be adjusted against the 50% amount that I owe them for the car right?

      Kindly advice.

Thanks for your prompt reply and help to date!
