  • Who is liable?

Oops posted this in wrong forum apologies.

We have a rental property. On Sunday a plumber was working in the flat above.

Monday morning water coming through ceiling into flat due to a leak in the pipework done by the plumber. Plumber was doing partime work.

The managing agents are reluctant to claim on the buildings insurance.

If I get the remedial work undertaken, do I ask for the money from the owners of the flat above or the plumber?

    Thank you in anticipation.

You have no contract with the plumber, you claim against the owner of the flat and they claim from the plumber

The problem also is my tenants are currently covering the cost of the electricity for the dehumidifier. I feel they should refund my tenants electricity. Do you agree?
