Can anyone explain to me the difference between a statutory right and a statutory law?

Is the consumer rights act a statutory law?

Statutory law: a formal body of the legal system that consists of written legislation

Statutory rights:These are rights which are given by Parliament and set out in primary or secondary legislation

    CRA 2015 is a statute

      thanks for that.

So if say an insurance policy states that it would cover for any alleged breach of statutory duty- this would mean it covers alleged breaches of the CPA 2015?

Also a Court of Summary Jurisdiction- is the financial ombudsman service a Court of Summary Jurisdiction?

Also, I read that it is not possible to minimise statutory duty, so when an insurer says it only covers for accidental damage of breaches of statutory duty, is that legal on their part?

FOS is not a court of summary jurisdiction That is a court which tries cases without a jury eg magistrates court.

Your other questions I recall were dealt with on your earlier thread
