  • Problem with Double Glazing Company

    Hello,

I am hopeful that somebody will be able to help me with a problem I am having with a double glazing company.

I purchased the windows almost two years ago and they looked fantastic but a few months after the installation there was a heavy rain storm and a number of windows leaked into the house, causing damage to the internal decorations etc. The Glazing Company were initially quite slow at coming to see the problem but over the following months the problem got worse, more and more windows were leaking, and eventually the Glazing Company replaced all the windows frames. A few months after replacement, you guessed it, another storm and the windows leaked. The Glazing Company has blamed all kinds reason for the leaks, general maintenance of the property etc but these have all been proved wrong and now the Glazing Company is not talking to me, I get no response.

I have a 10 year guarantee but I don’t have the paperwork, although I have asked for it several times, I also don’t know who it is underwritten with!

As I said above, the windows were installed almost 2 years ago, this causes me to think, at the back of my mind is a snippet of information that says that “I have the right to reject a product that does not function correctly” and that this is covered by some EU law, since we are still in the EU can I apply this and does anybody know the details of this EU Law?

I am really stuck here and don’t know what to do!

Your help will be most gratefully received.

    Thank you
