  • Flight Delay Claim - requesting data from airline and Air Traffic Control

I have a bee in my bonnet about British Airways not playing out on a 3hr+ flight delay.

Flight was initially delayed by over an hour due to Heathrow being fogbound. We eventually boarded but were kept on stand due to missing an ATC slot. Then, an important piece of kit failed, so we were told by the flight deck. By the time this was repaired (I think it failed twice) we had missed another slot, meaning our flight did not take off until over 3hrs passed its scheduled slot. BA have refused to entertain the breakdown issue (they completely ignored it!) and state that fog at Heathrow to blame, hence no pay-out.

Money aside, these events nearly saw us missing a connecting flight to Spain for work and I still think BA should pay up. As such, I will now have to engage a solicitor. My question is: can I request data from the airline itself and/or logs from ATC that confirm the electro-mechanical failure suffered by the aircraft that day? This is crucial to me going forward with the claim.
