Nice one Mocha, Pipex really are a waste of space, i was with Nildram for years, then it got taken over by Pipex and like you i began to notice my download speeds dropping like a stone, soon even surfing the net was allmost impossible...... many attempts were made to correct this and after every phone call the problem would resolve itself, but allways started again within a few day's. As my origional contract had been with Nildram and was only for a year i decided to leave and go with another provider. pipex first tried to tell me i would be in breach of my contract as they signed customers up on a yearly bases.... well i fought that one and won! they had no signed contract from me at all and so could not argue that. I left without any major problems my switch over was pretty seemless and everything seemed fine.
untill 2 months later i get a bill from Pipex!! phone calls and emails ensued and they agreed they had made a mistake.. refunded the money they had taken and promised to take me off their system. This has happend now every month for the last 8 months!!! They are no longer able to take money as i have instructed the bank not to release funds to them. every month i scan their bloody bill and send it to em by email. In my last mail to them i told them on the 12 month of this occuring i would start court proceedings against them.... i have letters and e mails stating that it is a mistake on their behalf each month it happens they appologise and admit liability.
well they have 1 more month to get it right...lol
    we shall see what happens

Brave ladies reading all of that!!!

      Tempty,
I had same problem with NTL every month proving I was no longer a customer... In the end I found their CEO name and wrote to him. Never heard back but they stopped billing me.

          Hi mochamoo.....any joy from OFFCOM??
They will more than likely crusify pipex for all they have done....
I used to work at Telewest as a install despatcher and know that an OFFCOM complaint can cause real problems.....
You tend to get a rocket up your bum if you cause one......lol
If you haven't done it......do it asap.....
It will let Pipex know you aren't playing around......
