I'm having serious issues with the AA, as I'm wanting to terminate my contract which has 14 months to run. I'm having to hand in my ADI badge to the DVSA as I'll be working for them from the 4th of August. The AA want to charge me a PILON fee of £13500 which is ridiculous as that's £3500 more than what my fees would be.. I need some.help here as I'm certainly not paying the fees.

Can you confirm whether you are an employee of the AA under a contract of employment or whether you are self-employed driving instructor who has a a Franchise contract with the AA?
Similar questions here in the past have usually turned out to be Franchise agreements. If that is your situation too that affects your legal position as it is likely to be a business-to-business contract which may not give you the protections you would have as an employee or consumer. All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

The contract documents need to be carefully studied. It is not going to be possible to give meaningful advice based on the few lines of information given.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
