Story so far: from 2012-2013 i rented a small business unit. 4 Weeks ago received a Court Summons for Non-Payment of business rates (court in mid-October). As i dont live in that property i suspect all letters bearing my name were sent back except this one, where current tenants contacted me.
I contacted local council and disputed total amount since Small Business rate relief was not applied. Contacted valuation agency, supplied form etc.
Today i have received bill amendment from council - with 35% rate discount.
Few things:
- Court charge of £170 still present
- Payment date (Pay by date shown as 12/09/15)??
- current paperwork states Non Domestic rates Demand Notice where previous one was Summons of Non Payment, so do i still pay this £170 additional court charge?
- Anything else to get this bill-notice lower/invalid?
