  • Non compete/poaching agreements

I work for a large utilities firm and we have a consultancy partner in working on a project with us. We’ve been in contract for 1 out of 3/5yrs.
The contractor firm has posted a job which I would really like to apply for, I have no progression in my current role and my salary has been recently frozen due to a market “bench mark” activity.
the contractor has not contacted me about it I’d intend on speaking to them about it but what is the issue for my current employer? I’ve a feeling they could make things very awkward for me and I don’t want to cause them any legal issues or financial impacts.
any advice on how to approach this situation?

    1. Check your employment contract for post termination restrictions.
    2. There may be non poaching terms in the contract between your employer and the consultancy company.

Subject to that, go for it.
