  • Removed as a director

    Hi,

I was a director and shareholder in one of my estranged husbands businesses. I recently noticed on companies house that he has removed me as i director, without my knowledge. Is this legal? and, if not, am I still legally a director. The removal came immediately after I had asked to see the company bank statements and management accounts.

    Thank you

I am wondering if there were other directors/shareholders and they had a majority over you -

In several corporations, the ability to get rid of a director from the workplace is granted to the board of directors or to a majority of the shareholders beneath the company’s articles of association. For these corporations, removing a director would force the board or a majority of the shareholders to serve written notice on the director in question.
