Bank Holidays – Benefit Payments and Bank Opening Hours (2017 & 2018)

The next Bank Holiday in 2017 in England and Wales is August 28th ( Summer Bank Holiday ). Your payment should be made on the Friday 25th August.

If it’s a bank holiday in the UK your benefits and tax credits payments should be early.

Benefits are usually paid straight into your bank, building society or credit union account.

If your payment is due on a bank holiday, you’ll be paid on the last working day before the holiday.

If Monday is your normal payment day you should receive your payment on the Friday before, unless that is also a bank holiday, in which case you will be paid on Thursday. If your normal payment is made on Friday and it is a bank holiday you should be paid on Thursday.

Child Benefit – Bank holiday payment dates

Your Child Benefit payment is usually paid early if it’s due on a bank holiday. Payments might be late for some bank holidays in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
