I recently won a claim through first target recoveries . What a rip off .they won a claim from Santander for £402 after tax so basically I paid the tax to reduce the amount I would have got down to the £402. First target take there 39 percent BEFORE tax so they claim extra off me. Then I get a phone call last week to say I owe them £224 as they done a credit search .the invoice they sent me was £178 over 2 weeks ago of which I was happy to pay as soon as the cheque had cleared from Santander . I had a call today to ask for payment so I asked why it was £224 but they sent an invoice for £178 . .I was told the credit search put the price up .I told the guy that the credit search was only mentioned one week ago and this Santander claim was won 4 weeks ago so why have you back dated it . His answer was I agreed to a credit search back in May so again I asked if that was the case why was I asked again last week about a credit search from the girl that phoned me does that mean I'm going to be charged again . I have to the guy I will pay the £224 and I want a receipt from them and have told them never to phone or mail me again . They are not happy with the huge 39 percent they take but then want a cut of the rest . I would not touch them with a barge pole I would sooner have nothing back than give them over half .
