Can anyone help me on a 2000 I definatly wouldn't have opted to take out PPI. Is there a good company maybe that could help me pursue this further?

I acknowledge the points you have raised regarding the optionality of the policy and how you don’t think you would have consented to taking it out as it is not something that you would have opted to purchase.

Canada Square have provided a screen shot of the online application process which shows that during the sale you would have been given the opportunity to select either in favour or against purchasing the policy. They have also provided a screen shot of your application record, which show that PPI was selected upon application for the credit. At this stage, as these are internal documents provided by Egg, I am unable to send these documents to you – however, should you wish to see them I can request permission from Canada Square. The Ombudsman Service has extensively reviewed Egg’s sales process and cannot fairly say that the business did not make it clear to you that the policy was optional.
