Purple Turtle now seem to be Blue Bean.

I hate to say bit they seem to be another ''membership'' loan broking ''service''

Do you think when he was looking for loans he might have filed in his details on some other loan Broker sites?

    I'll check Orchard now.

Well vanman, if anyone can help you, Amethyst can.
Get your son to instruct the bank not to pay any money to these companies.
    Do it in writing

Apply to one company who then tell you that they don't do loans, but will pass your details to other companies, who then charge fees.
First thing to do is cancel any and all direct debits or standing orders. no direct debits or standing orders just his card
You stated.... He phoned them up to cancel the contract
I really do need to see the contract that your son signed.
As you haven't mentioned any fees payable from Merrywood loans, they took him for £69 in Dec that's when he found out he had been ripped off
or any terms and conditions. http://www.merrywoodloans.co.uk/faqs#ans19
It is hard to advise you, or to seek help from my colleagues on LB, unless you can provide more details.
sons not home yet but i know he has only has an email of the contract from Dec

Did your son get three separate loans from the three companies mentioned?
Your son should cancel any debits or standing orders with any of these companies, until it is sorted out.
On getting a loan (if he did), have you a copy of the agreement that you could scan and post on here.
Obviously blanking out your personal details.
To cancel a contract you really must put it in writing, keeping a copy.
Phone calls, unless taped are impossible to prove.
Send any correspondence by recorded and signed for post (costs under £2.00)
Try to post that contract if you can.
