Capital One Bank

Hi I had a credit card with Capital one from 2001-2006 because it has been so long and that the account is now closed. I have had late payment charges cash machine charges etc. I have wrote to the company. But they say that the account is now statute barred. I have claimed back my PPI but I need to claim back other charges. Is there anything that I can do?.
