I have a costs order CCJ to pay the opponents legal fees. The costs are going to be assessed in detail at my request. Prior to that the order was to pay a large sum of the costs within one month of the hearing. I wrote to the defendants solicitor and offered a payment plan and my budget, which they ignored. I am now in default of that payment order and the opponents party has applied for a Charge against my property. Consequently I have made a notice to vary N245 application to ask the courts to agree a budgeted payment plan. I expect the charged will still be placed on the property as a guarantee. What I dont understand is how interest is being charged, or if it will continue even once (and if) the plan is in place. So far interest has been charged for the period of non-payment of the initial charge, regardless of the offer I made. Will interest stop once the plan is agreed.
Does interest continue after payment plan?
