Hi everyone, new to the forum and after a bit of advice.... some years ago I was in a bit of a dark place with debt up to my eye balls! I stopped paying them and sure enough the DCA letters started flowing through the letter box. All but 1 of the debts have now disappeared statute barred, I now have a better credit rating again and life seemed ok! A few weeks ago Cabot rang the house and my son answered and passed the phone on to me. Cabot have bought a 17k loan of mine from Lloyd's bank. I told them I cant remember the debt and they have sent a copy of my credit agreement through the post. It turns out that I have 4 months left until the clock passes 6 years from last payment. Now obviously I would rather not pay the debt than pay it, maybe it's not proper form but that is the situation I am in. Are there any ways that I could slow them down from taking me to court? Thanks in advance. Dean.
