  • MBNA Default

In 2004, I took out a credit card with MBNA. In 2007/2008 I had a lot of late payments and MBNA withdrew my credit card and I agreed a payment plan with them to pay a set amount every month. I did not receive a default on my account at this time.

I continued to pay this until 2015 when I changed accounts and did not reinstate the direct debit. I received a default in July 2015 for this MBNA account.

The debt is is all paid off now and has a zero balance. However, this shows as a default on my credit file. I completed a SAR and have all the paperwork and I am of the view that the default should have been 2007/2008 when I made consecutive late payments and MBNA withdrew my credit card. Could anyone please offer any advice on this, should MBNA places a default on my file over 10 years ago or are they correct to give me the default in 2015?

    Thanks
