Received letter from Apex saying they had bought my debt account from Egg, but they only proovided a photocopy of the alleged deed of assignment, which had no name of who issued it, no proper signature just a scrawl , and no deed of assignment number-in short it looked like they could have rustled it up themselves. So duly wrote to them ,asked for copy of original credit agreement, signed and true copy of deed of assignment and statement of account to show they are the legal owners now.
They have sent the agreement, and a statement of account-but it does not show my most recent payments which have continued to be to paid to the original lender in the interim, till Apex prove ownership. They have sent the same photocopy of assignment, not a signed and true copy and interestingly on the letter that came with the statement of account which they have obtained on my behalf from the original lender, from the original lener it says please contact us directly on... if you wish to discuss settlement which strongly suggests to me the original lender is still the legal owner . And if so I dont want to pay Apex as Id rather pay the legal owner.
When I told Apex this, they have made a veiled threat that if the original lender doesnt pass on my payments in time and I dont put payment in place to Apex direct within 28 days, a default may be put on my credit file. Ive written to original lender to confirm if apex now owners or just agent and if agent dont want to deal with them, plus asked whats happened to the two further payments made to original lender since.
Ps sorry for error in title my spelling goes pear shaped when im stressed
Any further ideas what to do now/how to proceed? Apex also contacted me by phone when i specified writing only , so withe everything else they have done im considering asking a third party to report them to OFT now as I feel they being unfair and intimidating.
