Hi Everyone,
A few weeks ago my friend who is an IT tech was sorting out my laptop and found a Remote Access Trojan and Malware. He cleared it wiping the laptop completely and installing from scratch. Last week I found that my Bank Account was cleared out and I was minus £1300! Fuming doesn't even come close. They gained access to my online banking, paypal and all my other online accounts. I called Lloyds up straight away once I had spotted it and in total there is £4200 in disputed transactions from the 31/03 - 07/04. They say it's not fraud in their eyes as I have used the merchants before so it's gone to disputes who wanted a letter from the merchant to say that the transactions are unauthorised. Is that right because I really can't see how they would send that and they have said not it's down to your bank and we will be happy to help with the investigation. Lloyds Disputes asked me to send as email with all the information I have. I have reported it to action fraud and the merchants too. I also found on the FCA that 'a refund is to be given immediately unless a bank can prove negligence or fraud' is this correct? Lloyds didn't even stop my debit card or the account I was just fobbed off. I spoke to Virgin Media my ISP and they said that the problem with RAT's is that they use your IP and Laptop as a gateway and its also masked with my ISP so I can't even prove that! My friend said he will write a report but that's the only thing I had to show apart from that I was out at the time but have no tickets or receipts (I don't keep them if its not something I would take back for any reason) Any advise because I've heard how Lloyds can be!
Thanks
