Can anyone please advise if in a bankruptcy case the creditors must consider a property valuation by an RICS surveyor as opposed to a local estate agent. I am in this situation and the equity in my property is being considered based on a local estate agents market appraisal which I believe to be an optimistic. If I were seeking a mortgage the bank would insist on a professional valuation, should this not also be the case when the property is being valued in the case of bankruptcy ?
