  • Lowell Provident Claim Form

    Hi Guys

Newbie here and first post, here goes:

I have received a claim form for a previous debt - the debt is £675.22 and I think the last payment was made in December 2011. I have no longer have any records of payments made.

I spoke to Lowell on Monday when I received the form and they tried to get me to complete the admission over the phone to which I declined. I have now completed an AOS for the extra time.

On my phone call they explained that a CCJ is inevitable for me, I said that obviously I didn't want a CCJ and she said if I admit the claim I will still receive one. She did say the best thing was for me to admit the claim then she may be able to offer me an alternative to the CCJ - when I asked her what this alternative was she said she couldn't tell me until I had admitted the claim formally and I felt this was a trap so told her I would seek legal advice and get back to them.

I can't afford to make a lump sum full repayment, any ideas what the best options for me would be. I did think this was about to be statue-barred but obviously with it being December 2011 I'm just under the 6 years.

Any advice on how to proceed without ending up with a CCJ on my credit report would be greatly received.

    Callum
