annual leave booked and confirmed by management, 3 months in advance.

I have a holiday that is booked and paid for coming up and although i booked the days off for it 3 months ago and they were authorized by management I've now been told I have to work those days. I have told them i wont be working but with no reply.
Surely this is illegal?
