  • Arval ' Hire agreement

    Hi

We have a 'hire agreement' with Arval , this was taken out over 4 years , deposit of 762.91, followed by 47 monthly payments of £254.30. In July this will be 2 years old. During this time my husband , (whose name it is in) was made redundant from his job where he received a car allowance to cover the cost, and when he found a new job, no longer needed the car as a van was supplied. He is now in the situation of paying for a car he doesnt use , and we have asked Arval , via their agent Intelligent Car Leasing , to allow VT in July as its then 50% of the way through agreement .They are saying they want approx 2500 as settlement ! That they will sell at auction within 90 days and any short fall in their estimated value will be invoice to us ! Can they do this ? I thought the whole point at 50% was you hand it back and pay no more ? We have asked for the calculation in writing and they have ignored our points of VT at half way mark = nothing to pay ! Where do we stand on this please ??
