  • Attachment of earnings time limit

Is there a time limit on which an attachment of earning can be enforced.
I had a CCJ which has past its 6 years time limit approximately 3 years ago. A year after the CCJ was registered an attachment of earnings was sent to my employer. This was not acted upon until last month when without warning the payrole department suddenly took a payment out of my wages without any notifivation.
    Is this legal.
I believe with a CCJ after the 6 years have elapsed that the company would have to go back to court to reseek permission of the courts to claim the money owed under the CCJ and explain why they have not claimed the money.
The company to which the CCJ is attached is Phoenix Recoveries.
