Hello
I have received a letter from Mortimer Clarke Solicitors yesterday 21st September - Letter Dated 9th September
Relating to a Black Horse Limited Debt over 9 years ago. I did receive a CCJ for the debt which has now dropped off my credit report.
The letter from Mortimer Clarke Solicitors reads....
Our Client: ME 111 Limited
Original Creditor: Black Horse LTD
We have still not received any payment proposals from you and so our client has instructed us to apply for an Attachment of Earnings Order to be made against you should you fail to make satisfactory payment proposals.
If an acceptable payment offer is not made within 7 days from the date of the letter, an application will be made to the County Court to change the name of the Claimant in the proceedings to our client, to enable it to apply for an Attachment of Earnings Order.
If the court agrees to substitute our client as Claimant in the proceedings, and if we have still not heard from you, we will be instructed to apply for an Attachment of Earnings Order.
It does state in the letter I must reply within 7 days from the date of the letter 09/09/2016 - however I have only received the letter yesterday.
I was under the impression this was now statute barred as over 9 years ago.
Can anyone help and advise how I reply to this.
Many Thanks in advance.
